Cars in German Town Found Smeared with Swastikas in Blood, Police State
Area Police
Around 50 vehicles have been smeared with what appears to be blood from a person in the Germany's town of Hanau near Frankfurt, as reported by authorities.
Cars, walls and mailboxes were vandalized, occasionally with prohibited symbols, they reported in a official communication.
Police report they were contacted late on Wednesday evening, when a resident noticed that a car in the Lamboy neighborhood of Hanau had been marked with a red-colored fluid.
The liquid had been placed in the form of a Nazi symbol, they reported.
Law enforcement then located multiple other smeared automobiles and house walls in the nearby vicinity.
Nazi symbols are banned in Germany under laws outlawing the public display of Nazi symbols.
Police report preliminary tests show the fluid was probably human blood.
"Currently there is no lead as to its origin; investigators are presently not aware of any physical harm in relation with the incident," they added.
City officials stated they were working "to solve the incident" and have appealed to the community for information.
A senior official commented the vandalism left him stunned and had to be addressed promptly.
"This incident affects the very heart of Hanau and revives the wounds of the right-wing attack half a decade ago," he wrote on social media, recalling the death of nine people by a shooter focusing on people of immigrant origin in February 2020.
